Why Work With Me
I'm not selling you a platform. My advice isn't shaped by what earns the biggest margin, but by what's actually needed for your business — sometimes that's staying exactly as you are, and I'll say so.
I'm not tied to any single vendor or reseller, and I work with all of them. Some partnerships involve a commercial arrangement with a provider — where that's the case, I'll tell you upfront. It never changes the recommendation: I tell you what's genuinely best for your business, kickback or not.
You'll get a clear explanation of what something does and why it matters — not a wall of jargon and boardroom theatre.
I focus on companies with roughly 50 to 1,000 employees — big enough to have real complexity, small enough that enterprise-style consulting (and enterprise-style pricing) doesn't fit.
Over 25 years designing communication systems for organisations of every size — including police forces and major retail brands. Jack of all trades, master of one.
About Ben
I've worked in telecommunications since 2002 — I learned the trade in a police 999 call centre and as a Cisco engineer, before going on to design the first fully SIP (VoIP) police contact centre in the UK, an innovation later recognised with an industry award.
That background means I know multiple platforms in depth, not just one, and I've been through the full transition from old PSTN copper lines to modern Voice and AI-driven systems — helping global organisations save millions of pounds along the way. I founded Long Communications to bring that same independent, practitioner-led advice to growing businesses who don't have access to an enterprise consulting budget — and to tell them the truth about what they don't need.
I'm based in the UK, working with businesses nationwide. At the end of the day, I just want to help companies run better, and more efficiently.
